Prelude, Choices, and Resolution
Haz'rd Vulp
Prelude
They walked along during the night, and hide during the day. Taking what they could from the camp, they loaded up on the currency of the Maqku. It was quite a bit by their understanding of things.
On the fifth night of walking they found they were heading into an area that was a bit more populated. One of the new arrivals said they knew someone who would take them into their home, provided they paid a certain price. He wasn't very clear, but political assassination was leaned towards.
Action
"This is the price of doing business. If you want to be connected to my network, which can help you with your aims, you must kill the mayor of this town," this came from a so-so looking man standing in the middle of the room. The Vulpen around him sat on the furniture, relaxing as best as they could.
"We'ra to suppose you gunna supply us wit' the right information, er'a we going to go at this blindly," asked Haz'rd reclined back in a leather chair.
"I'll give you a day to think about this, but yes, you will be given entrance into the mayor's home, and directions to his bedroom. He keeps most of his guards outside and shuffles in the hookers he frequently fucks through the back," he paused, to add, "I'd also like to say, that if you help us with this, we could call off a great deal of troops from attacking your people's territory. It's going to happen anyway, but the messengers to half of the forces could be called off. I'll let you think on this," with that he left the room.
Choices
1. Accept the proposal (maximize casualties)
2. Accept the proposal (minimize casualties)
3. Leave and heads towards the original target.
Resolution
Sunlight broke over the horizon when the man returned. They were all groggy and all but one slept through the knocking on the door. He walked in and the one who was awake said that they would do it, in order to get what they needed to get done.
He left instructions on how to get into the Mayor's house, which was more a small mansion, blueprints, and what to expect. They slept for most of the day and in the late afternoon looked at them. They studied for the night and cased the place before the sun came up again.
Everything was planned out, and it was understood what needed to be done. Although some might desire Vulpens and Maqku to peacefully co-exist, they would take out everyone in the home, and do all they could to hide traces that it was a Vulpen attack.
Taking off they scaled the wall of where they were at and went over the rooftops to get where they needed to go. Much of the city was closely packed together, and getting where they needed to caused little difficulty.
When they were behind the Mayor's home Haz'rd used his strength to throw a rope with hooks to grapple onto the roof. The throw was good and they latched their side of the rope to the roof they were on. With their agility they crossed the rope bridge with no trouble.
On the other side they went to the East edge and hung of the roof, then swung into a large opening that was common in the upscale designs. When all five were down they went through an unlocked door and spread out.
The home was scarcely lit, and this served to their advantage. Half a dozen guards were dispatched without a sound. Then there was gunfire that rang through the entire home. It was crunch time now due to this.
Haz'rd and one other broke down the door to the mayors room and rolled along the wall, gun fire missing them both. They could here the sound of a scared man, and could smell the sweat of two others. The room was pitch black as the door slammed shut.
There was little sound made by the two Vulpen as the guards were taken down by a blade through the eye of one, and against the throat of another. The sound of two bodies crumpling to the floor was much louder then their death.
Now the only noise in the room was that of a man clutching his blankets, whimpering. That too ended with little sound.
Semper Fidelis
Prelude
He had proven himself, in a way, with the combat of the Aqku. His troops suffered the mildest losses out of them all. This was enough to get him noticed by higher ups, and good things were in store for him, should he choose to lead.
Action
A few more weeks had passed, and basic training was over with. Having been at the right place in the right time, Semper Fidelis was moved to another training facility, this one dealing with leadership. At this point he had simply two choices to entertain. He could either become a careerists, or he could decide to go at this part time, moving onto other things later on.
Choices
1. Go for highest rank possible
2. Choose the part-time option
Resolution
Weighing the benefits of either route, Semper Fidelis decided that he should rise to attain the highest rank he possibly could. With that reported to the proper channels he was sent on his way to a school for leadership training.
Ninemeindrol
Prelude
Continuing on his path, Ninemeindrol felt good about the days to come. There was something tugging inside of him, something that was telling him that good things were going to happen soon.
Action
A hearty days worth of walk, and Ninemeindrol was approached by someone who looked to be a bishop. He came with word that his mentor, and Pious of his home region had fallen ill. This was dire news indeed, as it was widely considered that once the level of Pious was achieved, a person was no longer subject to disease. The other message was that the Pious had something that only could be told in person to Ninemeindrol.
Choices
1. Return with haste.
2. Hold off for a few days.
Resolution
He went with the man immediately to see the Pious. They didn't run, but their pace was brisk. It would be many days yet before he would reach his Pious, and called for God's help to speed their journey.
Sylus Horonto
Prelude
After they had burned and pillaged the camp, Sylus kept a distance on the Vulpen, letting them be just over the horizon, and him never being downwind. There was the possibility that they could just turn around suddenly, but that didn't seem to be their style.
Many days seemed to pass when he found he entered a small town. Sizeable enough for them to hide in and stalk about at night, but not so large that it wouldn't create unwanted attention easily enough.
Action
Straightaway he went, straight to the mayors home. Once he reached there he was rebuffed, and was told to make an appointment with the mayor. Sylus told the person he spoke with that dire consequences would result should he not have access to the mayor. He was merely laughed at.
He decided to try a different route, and toyed with a few ideas in his mind.
Choices
1. Sneak into the mayors home tomorrow night.
2. Go to the law enforcement authorities.
3. Attempt to contact another operative.
Resolution
He snuck into the home of the Mayor the night Haz'rd and company attacked. There was a brief firefight, and there ended the life of Sylus Horonto.
