Creating a Character, and the World
Creating a character is fairly simple.
1. Choose your faction, either Aqku or Maqku.
2. Choose your class, either Knight or Priest with Aqku, and Soldier or Assassin with Maqku.
3. Pick which attributes you want your six points to go to, and how many for which ones. Each attribute has ten points already, and you can choose from Strenght, Logic, and Social to add them to, but no more then four points to any one.
Then teams will be formed, and the game will be begin.

Character Backrounds (These may not represent recent events):
Haz'rd Vulp: Haz'rd hails from the northern border foothills of Maqku territory and belongs to the vulpen people who inhabit that area. Mostly human but with fox-like ears and tail they are known for there hardiness and skills at mining the metals which lace the rugged landscape of there home. Constant conflict with the Aqku has made them wary of magic in all its forms and instilled them with a worshipful love of technology, revering it and those who know its secrets.
Haz'rd himself is a young son of a mine engineer and malitia sergent and grew up hearing tales of brave battles against the witches of the West. And so, has joined the Maqku army. His background has gifted him great strengh and some knowlege of machinery but he has tendancies to be a loneer and doesn't get on with others well.
In recent events, Haz'rd got a taste of his first battle in the town of Pradish, in the state of Ankish against Aqku forces. After the fight there was the overall feeling of betrayel by the Maqku, as some Vulpen were found skinned, and it doesn't seem quite right, given the conditions, that the Aqku could have been the ones to do it. From his fight in Pradish he was recognized as capable under pressure, and regarded as the best Vulpen in the fight.
Haz'rd was seen as an instigator against the peace by Maqku politicians, as he was behind the and execution of six poachers. A seventh man was captured, and totured to death, leading to a edict being issued that he should be brought in for questioning, or shot on sight.
In the recent past he headed South, and successfully destroyed a Maqku military camp without a single loss to himself or his four men. While South he also killed the mayor of a Maqku town. After making contact with a Maqku group that was willing to cut a deal, he is now back in his own territory.
In the past days he's risen to a higher rank in the Vulpen army, and is on his way to directed large scale movements. Though for right now he's waiting for the snow to pass and melt away to try and form an alliance with the Aqku.
Sylus Horonto: From a young age, Sylus displayed a preoccupation with science. His own father was a politician, but his mother was a home maker. His father was glad that his son showed such an aptitude for achademics, but was uninterrested in science himself. His goal in life was to accumulate as much power as he could, and while Sylus's mother tried to make her son a nice young man, his father tried to make him strong.
When it came time for Sylus to pursue higher education, he and his father were forced by their strong wills and different goals to split. Sylus's father would not support his son's interrest in scence, convinced that a carrer in politics and further accumulation of power was the only way for his son to succeed in life. Sylus was forced to make a difficult decission. Should he give in to his father, or do what he had been taught all his life and make his own way?
Out of frustration and rebellion, Sylus chose a brief enlistment in the military to gain some real-world experience before pursueing his carreer. His enlistment was mostly uneventful. He managed to make some friends, and generaly held the opinion that his superiors were not as smart as him. He was support personnel, a mechanic, but still managed to find his way into a few minor scirmishes when his regiment was near a combat zone.
At the end of his military service, Sylus was picked out of several hundred applicants for an apprenticeship as a state chemist. He was thrilled!
"Finally, my life is moving foreward," he thought when he got the news...
In recent events, Sylus was in the for Pradish, a town in the state of Ankish where he greatly helped Maqku and Vulpen forces fend off the Aqku. Additionally he has recently moved up in the world, as he is a covert operative.
He was seeking Haz'rd Vulp and an associate, wanted for torturing a Maqku citizen. Being on their trails he has noticed they've been joined by three others, and watched the efficiency that they had for destroying the Maqku military camp.
After sneaking into the home a mayor he was killed during the successful assassination by Haz'rd and his men.
Nenimeindrol: Nenimeindrol had grown up in standard conditions of the Aqku's poor class. Among his peers he had hoped to amount to something someday. For Aqku looks he was average for looks, with an average height, blown hair, a slim profile, and green or brown eyes, depending on how the light reflected on them. He was social enough that he could fit into a crowd quite easily, but other's did most of the talking. People in his hometown knew him well, though the image of a quiet and humble person was what they envisioned when they thought of him.
In his mid teens he had been noticed by a preacher to have an aura about him that said, "Our God has blessed thee." After a few days of discussion it was decided that Nenimeindrol would be sent to the head church in the state, and placed in the academics there for study.
Church of Aqku taked note of he's magical skills and started training him.. but no one got close to him, everyone liked him but there was something ominous about this new boy who wanted to join the church and learn magic. He learned the teachings of Aqku and did become very devouted.
When he arrived the orderlies and above, meaning everyone, knew that there was something special about him. There was whisperings every now and then that if he continued on this path as a man, that someday he could very well becoming a pious. His studies seemed to reflect that, as he became quiet knowledgeable of the Church, and his devotion was unquestionable.
As he came of age he decided that he wanted to see more of the country, to learn it's peoples better. Though most everyone had a common thread in line with the Teachings, there were still many stories out there that he wanted to hear for himself. The Church agreed, and he was sent out on his way.
In recent history, Nenimeindrol started a Northward journey, seeing the peoples of the Aqku, and learning more about the land. On his path he helped a boy control something thought to be uncontrollable, and had a talk with a Pious who gave him tips that will help him to become a preacher.
After a brief chat with his Pious just before the man's death, Ninemeindrol took a vow of silence, went to the Monastary of the Mountains, and trained there. This a last mental projection from the former Pious, as the year in the mountains was over instentaneously in all actuality. Ninemeindrol is currently a Pious for his home area.
Semper Fidelis: His father was drafted into the Maqku Army when he was 4 years old, and dead by the time SF was 7. Having only hazy memories of his father, a now famous Cavalry Officer, SF has dedicated his life to becoming a soldier and bringing honor and glory to his family to avenge his father's untimely death in combat.
At first, a mysterious ailment from his troubled childhood days barred him from enlisting, but since the ailment has passed he has been accepted into boot camp where he is now.
Although located 160 km from the majority of the fighting, a lightning Aqku offensive has broken through to an area 20km from Camp Pendleton, the temporary training center erected to handle the new flood of raw recruits into the Army.
Proficient with all means of combat most noticeably fire arms, SF was a squad leader of his training squad and was ranked Platoon Leader Class. Perhaps this eager soldier of 19 will test his mettle in combat sooner than he had envisioned.
After a month of training for leadership Semper was in the South Central mountain range in search for a device that creates earthquakes. He failed to find the device, but found something very interesting instead. Upon reporting to his commanding officer he was told off, and is on his way to deliver a letter to a mayor of a port town.

This is a simplified view of the continent of Rist. The West are the lands of the Aqku, the East for the Maqku. The black indicates the mountains.
